I have read several articles describing methods by which to align the paddles on the Raptor.  I personally favor the ol' eyeball. 

On the first picture to the left draw an imaginary line through the center of the paddle and let it intersect the center of the ball link.  Now move your eye back (bottom picture) and do it the same with the leading edge of the paddle on the other side.

By moving your head back and forth and twisting the paddles until they line up as shown you have a perfect alignment with no special equipment needed!
