New! Eagle Lander 3D
Eagle
Lander 3D is a full 3D simulation of the last couple of minutes of flight of
Apollo 11. I have created a separate website for the program. Check it out at:
Eagle Lander 3D
Eagle Lander (original 2D)
Eagle
Lander is a 2D arcade like simulator. It is fun and utilizes the
original Apollo 11 voice transmissions as part of the flight.
GPStoFS
GPStoFS interfaces a GPS receiver with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000. You connect your GPS to your computer (usually a laptop) through a serial cable. Position, speed and altitude data from your GPS receiver is sent to your computer and GPStoFS 'forces' Flight Simulator 2000 to fly with the same parameters. All of the main program files are included in gpstofs.zip along with a special FS2000 airplane. You will also need fsuipc.dll which is a module written by Peter Dowson to interface 3rd party programs to FS2000.
AirCalc
I wrote AirCalc as a "what if" designing and evaluation tool. It works for any size airplane from full size 747s to hand launch model gliders. I wrote it because I like tinkering around with different design criteria and seeing what the effect is instantly.
Eperf
Eperf is a program I wrote to calculate the performance of a model aircraft engine based on analytical and empirical methods. The Eperf Description gives you a detailed explanation.
Fuel Calculation Spreadsheet
If you are a home fuel mixer the following spreadsheet written by Dan Shoop, a chemical engineer / pilot / RC modeler here in Saudi, will calculate volume of ingredients (nitro, methanol, oil) to honor percentages of each desired. It will also calculate the cost if you know the cost per gallon for each ingredient.
To download the file it might be easier to right click (Internet Explorer) and use the "Save Target As" option. I'm not sure how it works on some other browsers but if you have Excel installed and you left click with IE4+, it will start Excel and display the spreadsheet in the browser window. You probably would rather just save the file and use it later at your discretion.
