AGM-114 Hellfire Rocket Pods

Well what can I say....I just had to have them.  I had a few 1/2 A Estes rocket engines around and thought "What the Heck".  The rockets themselves are approximately 1/7 scale like the pilot.

Here's a comparison....

The rockets are made of rolled plastic 1/2" in diameter with balsa fins and nosecones.  I made the nosecones by turning balsa on my drill (poor man's lathe).  The launchers themselves are mostly Popsicle sticks with some balsa and bits added for detail.  

Right now I have the rockets set to fire one off of each side selectively.  The outer lower launch rails on both sides are 'live"  The rest of the rockets are dummies right now but all of the launchers are operational.

Of course there is no 'recovery' system.  The rockets are fired horizontally and will hit the desert (or whatever I aim at) hopefully.  I will be test firing in a week or so.
