Welcome to Wright-Flyer.net!
My original intention was to make this site a technical stopping point for people interested in the design and construction of the Wright 1903 Flyer. It didn't take me very long to realize that there are sites all over the web that did the same thing - and with more resources.
Nevertheless I have some unique material that you probably won't see on other sites so pan on down and check it out!
First of all....

Several years ago when I started this site I intended to build a radio control (RC) model of the Wright 1903 Flyer and fly it near the 100th anniversary. I have always been intrigued with the infamous flight characteristics of the Flyer and so a large scale RC replica would have been very interesting project. Subsequently I became redirected developing an accurate computer simulator of the Apollo lunar landings. I have also been intrigued by the 'flying' characteristics of that vehicle. So as a result I have not built the Flyer but have worked nearly full time on that my Eagle Lander 3D project. I am nearing completion of Version 2 so come on over and have a look!

Click here or on the picture left for a collection of hi-res pictures of the engine. |
Detailed Photographs....
If you are building a scale model or are interested in some close-up and detailed pictures of the 1903 Flyer please click here or the picture below. I do not have captions on the photos but I am guessing if you are interested in these photos you probably know your way around the Flyer already.
And if you hadn't heard....
